Row House Meat Balls
I love it when Row House fans share with me what our enterprise means to them. This one comes from an old Camp buddy who now lives in VA Beach. His name is Tim, and we all called him Slim. Hope you enjoy it. Best served with olive oil, cracked pepper and a hint of garlic.
Hi Tom – I had a crazy dream last night:
My dad and I are in a sports bar enjoying an adult beverage. This is immediately hilarious because my dad, who is now 81, doesn’t even like sports. But, I digress.
Anyway, dad asks me if I know What Makes Row House Meatballs So Good? Like, what ingredients and recipe? I’m just amused that he knows about The Row House. So, after asking again, “What makes Row House meatballs so Good?” dad’s pretty excited that he has stumped me with the question.
But, in an Inception-esque moment, it occurs to me that I am in a dream and I also know, just KNOW I’v e spoken to you about the qualities of Row House meatballs about a year earlier. I racked my adult beverage-assisted dream brain to recall what, indeed, makes Row House meatballs so good?
Meanwhile, dad opened the question to the others in the restaurant/sports bar.
While they pondered and conjectured aloud, I slipped from the barstool to a less crowded corner. My fat thumbs danced merrily over the Android’s gorilla glass: Row House + meatballs. ENTER. My dream infused expectations ran high. I really believed the Browser’s top result would be: “Tom Becker explains what makes Row House Meatballs so GOOD!”
Nada. Nothing even close.
Somewhat dejected, I returned to a bar perch next to dad. My disappointment deepened for the lack of creativity offered by other patrons responding to the question: “What Makes Row House Meatballs so Good?” Somehow, “oregano,” and “parmesan cheese” weren’t satisfying my snoozing curiosity.
Sunbeams suddenly beat back the Sandman as I opened my eyes from the dream. Now awake, I remain vexed.
I simply had to write it all down. The dream with its ubiquitous query…
Perhaps you can help me?!
I’m hoping today’s forecast is Cloudy with a Chance of Tom Becker telling me, “What Makes Row House Meatballs so Good?”
Or maybe you could convene a forum on the next second or fourth Saturday to figure out not only what makes them so good, but how does their goodness intersect with our ancient faith?
Slim, I wish I could help you, but I’ve been sworn to secrecy by my friend Vito never to reveal such things. Meantime, I’m working toward our very own Row House Brick ‘n Mortar Porter. When it appears, we shall drink to your Dad’s health.
